Xavier White is an artist-designer-stained glass artisan.
Design and Glasswork – Xavier has worked with glass for over twenty years. He has completed numerous commissions, both in the UK and internationally. He specializes in site-specific projects, tackling them in insightful and novel ways.
Artworks – Xavier works with a wide range of media with his art works. Xavier has a broad range of experience and skills that he brings to his artwork, ranging from survival of a serious head injury, working with children and working on a Deptford market stall. He has completed various exhibitions, both as part of the Deptford X Art Festival and as a solo artist.
Events promoting awareness of head injury - Organized, publicized and completed “Recuperation Across the Nation, I care for the NHS”, 1988 & 1989, solo sponsored cycle form Glasgow to London.
- Articles in Headway (head injury charity) magazine about head injury rehabilitation in the USA.
- “Claryssa has it off” – sponsored haircut event, raised £500 for Headway House, Abbey Wood, London.
Exhibitions- Cohedia, the mind-expanding cityscape (May-July 2004), Albany Community Centre, as part of the Deptford X Art Festival and Architecture Week 2004.
- “All the World’s a Stage”, glass model of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre (June-July 2004) at Theatre Museum, Covent Garden, London. A selected winner of the “Inspired By” competition run by the Victoria and Albert Museum.
- Various pieces exhibited at Greenwich Cinema (March 2003) as part of National Head Injury Week.
A Head in Art (1999 & 2001), to coincide with National Brain Injury Week. This included co-educational show visits.
