An exciting new collection of TextureScapes which fills the two galleries makes Ronnie’s sixth show at Torrance Gallery. Torrance Gallery was the first gallery to set up on Dundas Street, which has now become a mecca for art lovers with a plethora of galleries down its length and breadth. It remains one of the friendliest and most accessible and has provided Ronnie with a large and faithful following of east and north-east coast clients. International Exhibitions KINGS ROAD GALLERY, LONDON AND CADOGAN HOTEL, LONDON - 15 October and November This solo exhibition will open in the London Gallery in Chelsea on 15 October and will move to the Cadogan Hotel in November. Tanya Baxter, who was Ronnie’s art consultant in Hong Kong and with whom he exhibited regularly at LKF gallery Hong Kong, will curate the show and will also present several of the pieces at the Affordable Art Fair in Chelsea from 22- 25 October, where all art costs less than £3000. IONA HOUSE GALLERY, WOODSTOCK SCOTTISH SHOW - opening 10 October A wonderful selection of best-known Scottish artists will be on show in this annual exhibition at well-respected Iona House Gallery, where the gallery profits go to charity - Scottish International Relief. Ronnie was first invited to show in 2007 and this will be his third Scottish show with the gallery. Earlier this year Ronnie took part in the gallery’s Ostrich Egg Auction where his TextureScape painting fetched £200 for the charity. RONNIE TO SHOW IN MILAN at Jelmoni Studio Gallery - opening 22 October Jelmoni Studio, based in Piacenza, is hosting an exciting and varied international exhibition featuring ten artists of whom Ronnie is the only representative from Scotland. The gallery owners who often take Italian artists to London, New York, Paris, Berlin has this time invited artists from abroad to show in their Milan gallery. Ronnie will be showing a selection of TextureScapes for the first time to an Italian audience. More details of each exhibition will be posted nearer the time. Taking Graffiti Off The Streets
Includes Original Works, Prints and Wearable Art Marcel Meier has been working with Ronnie Ford in his studio at Atelier 23 on the Holy Loch Marina since October 2007. During this productive time he has continued to develop his own unique style of Graffiti Art - creating his designs with spray cans and acrylic on canvas to enhance and enliven today's modern homes, shops or corporate spaces. Since announcing his solo show he has secured a number of private and corporate commissions and is delighted to show these, along with original works for sale, prints and wearable art at his exhibition Taking Graffiti off the Streets. I am privileged to be showing again in this professionally run premier gallery with its warm welcoming atmosphere. I am delighted to present to you in this exhibition, my new collection of works which reflects on my travels and experiences of the last twelve months - The familiar Scotland I love,
French landscapes which never cease to feature in my thoughts and dreams,
and more recent inspiration from the shores of Cape Cod and the blaze of colour which is New England in the Fall.
While always exploring my love of texture I am striving to stretch the range of my work technically and extend the variety of subject matter. I feel each work should be my singular interpretation of the landscape; each work should be like my finger prints - unmistakably mine but without a predictable recipe. While some pieces verge on the abstract and some have the incredible detail necessary to show the character the place portrayed to me, in others I have explored the idea that less is more and distilled the essence of what I think captures the spirit of the scene for me.
