Gallimaufry Gallery

Provided by Scottish Art Circle

In tiny Blairmore, a short run from Dunoon by way of the Holy Loch, the Gallimaufry Gallery has evolved into an arts centre for the area.

Gallimaufry Reopens - 2008
World Tour - Solo Exhibition by Brian Phillips

The gallery, with its plethora of arts and crafts, enjoys fantastic views across Loch Long. Most of the impressive range of work is by artists and crafters based in Argyll, an inspirational paradise. A separate room is specifically used for Solo Exhibitions which change every three weeks. Much of the high class original art is available as prints or cards.

Gallimaufry also hosts a Coffee Shop for its customers and visitors to the area. The combination allows visitors and locals alike to enjoy the relaxed and friendly atmosphere in the gallery.

Classes are run throughout the year. Much sought after tutors are James O’Neill, who guides pupils through the crafting of their own design pewter mirror frames, and William Williamson whose classes produce stunning effects in Raku pottery. The options are endless - felt making, calligraphy, watercolour, acrylic and pastel painting etc.

The gallery run a popular Art and Craft Fair where visitors have the unique opportunity to watch artists and crafters at work. This inspires many to sign up for classes.

The gallery is a true "gallimaufry" treasure trove of unique and original works to delight the visitor.

Open daily 5th March until Christmas.
