Hi,
I am Joe McLaughlin. Welcome to my art website, I hope you enjoy your visit.
Here you can view a selection of my figurative and landscape paintings which will give you a fairly good idea of the kind of work I create.
I am a self taught Artist living and working in Kilwinning, Ayrshire in Scotland. Most of my work is figurative with a story to tell, and is always different for each person viewing the work.
My aim is to create an atmosphere that can affect the viewer in some small way. It is important to me that there is more than just a pretty painting to match the decor.
I also paint landscapes, portraits and occasionally wildlife, working mainly in acrylics to achieve the results I want quickly rather than waiting for oils to dry although oils are my favourite medium.
I am constantly working on my own work and commissions for exhibition or private sale so there are always paintings in my studio either as work in progress or ready for exhibitions.
Commissions are welcome and portraits are a favourite subject ... if you can supply a good photograph that is all I need. The same applies to landscapes - if you have a favourite location photo that you would like changed to a work of art contact me to discuss how to go about this.
