The Chaine des Rotisseurs is a global gastronomic association, dedicated to international professional and non-professional members world-wide, who appreciate and share a mutual interest in cuisine, fine wine and gourmet dining. The UK Grand Chapitre takes place in Edinburgh from July 1-3, 2011.

Member of the Scottish Art Circle Mike Shepley DA(Edin), has been commissioned to produce two paintings, prints of which will form part of the gift pack for each member attending the Gala Dinner on Saturday 2nd July at the Caledonian Hotel, Edinburgh.

Shepley has also donated a signed 13 x 19 artist's proof of each painting, on 315 gsm art paper for the charity raffle taking place on the same evening.

Members are also attending a reception and dinner aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia, which features in one of Shepley's paintings: Chaine Britannia

Britannia is of course berthed at Leith Docks, but a little research revealed that she also visited Queensferry and travelled under the iconic Forth Railway Bridge in the 1950s, so giving the artist the scene for the painting. Chaine members are also visiting the bridges during their stay in the capital city.

Shepley's other painting features the Festival Fireworks above Edinburgh Castle.
