Barbara McMahon of Renfrewshire, Scotland. I work in Scotland where I have lived all my life.
My pages on this site will give you an insight into my art work and keep you up-to-date with current and forthcoming exhibitions in which I am involved. I hope that you enjoy looking at my paintings and look forward to perhaps meeting you at the exhibitions. I have always enjoyed creating things - crochet, knitting and sewing being among my hobbies. I also like gardening, reading, walking and of course my greatest passions - drawing and painting. Some years ago, I attended evening classes at Glasgow School of Art where I worked in oils, producing life studies and portraits. Since then I have continued with art classes regularly at Paisley Arts Centre, Strathclyde University and various summer schools as well as attending demonstrations at Paisley Artists Club. Now I work in watercolour, ink, gouache and acrylic as well as oils. My choice of subjects is varied but my love of the beautiful Scottish scenery means that landscapes, and Scottish views in particular are among my favourite subjects for painting. Being a member of Paisley Artists which I joined in 1985 and where I have served both as secretary and president, means that I have exhibited often with this club as well as at
